Petersham Festival 2007

This was the village's first ever music festival which took place between Saturday 7th April – Sunday 15th April 2007. The festival was welcomed with a great deal of enthusiasm by both locals and visitors, who enjoyed the wide range of events that took place.

Monday April 9th                                          St Peter’s Church

8.00pm: To commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the birth of Capt. George Vancouver RN, whose grave is in St Peter’s churchyard the noted Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt plays: J. S. Bach “Well Tempered Clavier”Book 2 - extracts - Pianoforte by Fazioli.

(Please note that owing to the original Georgian interior of St Peter’s Church, visibility will be limited, but the sound quality in this intimate period setting will be superb!)
 

Tuesday April 10th                                       St Peter’s Church

8.00pm: Our Favourite Things”–Songs, Arias and Duets performed by: Helena Blackman (Runner up finalist in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC series ‘How do you solve a problem like Maria’) in concert with her teacher Patricia Sabin, fellow pupils Jennifer Webby and Natalie Farrell and pianist Judith Flint.

6.00pm-7.00pm: Piano Recital by a student from the Royal Academy of Music on the Fazioli Piano

10.30-11.15am: Music for Children (aged 5-11) – a workshop led by Andreas and Delia Rosenboom

£5 per child on the door (Children must be accompanied)

2.00pm-7.30pm: “Singing is for Everyone” a workshop led by Patricia Sabin
For people who already sing, and those who would like to. Understand the mechanics of singing, have fun discovering your voice, learn some songs together, develop listening skills and build confidence and joy in singing.
