100th Petersham Flower Show & Fete
July 2006
The Petersham Horticultural Show celebrated its 100th
Summer Show on 8th July in the Village Hall and grounds in Bute Avenue
on a lovely sunny afternoon. All the usual side shows and attractions
were there along with many members of the Society and local residents
who came to admire the exhibits and enjoy the live jazz band.

May Pole Dancing
The Avenue was lined with traditional summer fete stalls with a sale
of plants and home made cakes along with bric-a-brac, tombola and a
bottle stall. Games, face painting and Punch and Judy kept the children
amused and the Russell School gave their usual display of maypole
dancing.

Reverend Richard Bentley presented the cups and prizes, the Banksian
medal being granted to Bob Collett. To round off the afternoon
exhibitors and visitors ate cake and drank champagne in celebration of
the 100th Show.
